Summertime with the kids

                                                                                It’s summertime!

School is out and so are the kids so of course you must find ways to entertain them. Some are in summer camp, some have sports during the summer to keep them occupied, but we all love those family vacations. Going to the beach or hiking in the mountains, there are so many activities to explore while you’re there with the whole family. A few kids’ friendly activities can include Kayaking, fishing, hiking, camping, and surfing.

                                                                  Camping with the little ones.

Camping with little ones is no easy task. There are a lot of trials and errors and a lot of planning and over being prepared. From your backyard to camping by a river, remember the essential foods,
clothes, equipment, and of course always be prepared with a first aid kit. Always pack extra, extra food, extra snacks, extra clothes, and of course don’t forget while nature as a lot to offer to keep children entertained maybe pack a few games so that way you can always be ahead of any situation like the weather to keep your kids happy and focused on a good time. Explore what each place has to offer, take nature walks or bike rides make up games along the way like eye spy or even a scavenger hunt. Campfires at night are always a win especially when you bring out the smores.

A good meal on any occasion or destination will always bring in that extra spark that will make your already great adventure into an even better experience. Especially with kids, a good way to keep those
memories or interests alive is what is on the menu. Making your own pizzas is such an easy and yummy meal for simple and easy. Anything that can be thrown into some tin foil wrapped up and thrown on a grill or even a campfire can be delicious, and the kids would like to add their own personable taste to it. If you do have the chance to bring the grill along then another easy delicious menu would be burgers and hot dogs. Everyone loves a good dessert so do not forget to bring those marshmallows for the smores keep it traditional with the chocolate and graham crackers or take it up a notch with ice cream cones filled with the kid’s favorite sweets, wrap it in tin foil and lay over the fire, for a on the go new favorite.

                                                                    Kayaking, Surfing, or fishing?

Kayaking is a great activity for all ages. You can kayak on the lake, the ocean, and even the river. The area where you kayak needs to be considered with your family’s skill level. For beginner kayakers, preferably stay on a lake, you can do a river but make sure there are no waterfalls and are smooth flowing. If you’re new to kayaking, you could start by taking a guided tour with a professional kayaker. There are various tours in different locations. Another fun water sport would be surfing. Surfing can be extremely fun, but it is also dangerous if you do not know what you are doing. Fishing is another popular activity that you can do on the water. You will need to have a fishing license for your family. Check your state’s requirements on what ages must have a fishing license. You will also want to read up on the rules and regulations of fishing in your area. Certain fish may be in season, and there may be rules to how many fish you catch or how big your fish are.

Backpacking and Hiking.

Hiking brings so many opportunities for kids of all ages to learn and widen their minds with nature and so many places to explore.Depending on their ages will affect where and when to hike. Kids have such a big imagination and want to pick up and touch everything, this is one of the great things about hiking. Make sure to always pack
these essentials that will for sure come in handy on your hikes: wet wipes or tissues, lip balm, binoculars, magnifying glass, field guides (a visual for the kids), camera, and safety whistles for each child. Dress for success and remember to make sure that you take an ample amount of clothing in case of emergencies on the trail. Always bring rain gear, hats, gloves, and most importantly hiking shoes depending on the terrain of the trail.
